Do you have bursts of near-identical photos filling up your library? Whether it’s action shots, rapid-fire moments, or just too many slight variations of the same scene, Mylio Photos makes it easy to clean up similar photos using the built-in Photo DeClutter tool.
This smart feature groups photos taken in close succession—like when you hold down the shutter or shoot in burst mode—so you can easily pick your favorites and discard the rest.
Why Clean Up Similar Photos?
When your photo library is packed with lookalike shots, it becomes harder to enjoy the real gems. Photo DeClutter helps by:
- Grouping similar images based on time taken, aspect ratio, and camera
- Simplifying review of burst-mode shots, portraits, or events
- Saving space by removing photos you don’t need
- Keeping your photo library organized and efficient
Unlike Photo DeDupe, which finds exact duplicates, Photo DeClutter helps you clean up photos that are visually and temporally similar, not identical.
How It Works

You can launch Photo DeClutter from the All Photos view or from a specific folder (great for focusing on recent shoots). Mylio groups your similar photos by time, the default is 2 seconds, but you can adjust it up to 120 seconds for more flexibility.
Want to work smarter? Use QuickFilters to:
- Exclude already-picked or rated photos
- Filter by folder, date, or SmartTags (like “blurry” or “eyes closed”)
Use AutoMark for Even Faster Decluttering
Photo DeClutter includes an AutoMark option that uses AI to suggest which images to discard, like blurry or overexposed shots. You can adjust the sensitivity to stay in control. Combine it with your own star ratings or pick flags to streamline your process.
Delete or Just Move?
When you’re done reviewing, you can:
- Delete Marked: Permanently deletes files from Mylio Photos and all connected devices
- Move Marked: Sends files to a folder outside your library for low-risk cleanup
